aaPanel is a powerful server management tool that simplifies website deployment and management. When using phpMyAdmin, securing the connection with SSL is crucial. Cloudflare not only offers free SSL but also enhances website performance and security.
Step 1: Configure DNS on Cloudflare
Make sure you’ve configured your domain’s DNS records (including nameservers) to point to Cloudflare. If you’ve already followed the guide to enable SSL for the aaPanel dashboard, you can skip this step. Otherwise, refer to the following resources:

Step 2: Configure SSL for phpMyAdmin on aaPanel
By default, phpMyAdmin uses HTTP and runs on port 888. If you’re using Let’s Encrypt SSL, there should be no issues. However, if you’re using Cloudflare SSL, you need to change the port for phpMyAdmin.
Cloudflare allows HTTPS on ports 443, 2053, 2083, 2087, 2096, and 8443. For example, if aaPanel is using port 8443, you’ll need to choose a different port for phpMyAdmin’s “Open SSL” configuration. In this example, we’ve selected port 2087 for phpMyAdmin (see screenshot).
- Port 888: Used for accessing phpMyAdmin over HTTP (unsecured).
- OpenSSL Port (e.g., 2087): Used for accessing phpMyAdmin over HTTPS (secured).
To access phpMyAdmin, click on “Databases” and then click on the “phpMyAdmin” tab.
This is a simplified guide, but it represents a technique I discovered after some challenges setting up SSL for phpMyAdmin on aaPanel. I hope it helps you as well!
